Positive: The hotel is in front of the sea, separated from it only by one of the main streets of Toroni. The room and bathroom sizes sizes are reasonable. The equipment is reasonable. Cleaning is done daily and the rooms are clean, if one doesn't look under the beds. The owner Dimitra was kind to give us a spare key twice in the evening when we forgot ours inside the room. She also allowed us to pick some figs from the tree in the yard.

Negative: We were not happy with our stay at Castro Deluxe and would not recommend it. Our main disappointment was related to the fact that our we had to pay more than our original booking and live for a week in a narrower space than what we had originally booked. We booked 3 studios on booking: 1 Deluxe Suite with Sea View, 1 Deluxe King Studio and 1 Superior King Studio. One month and 20 days in advance Castro Deluxe charged us 50% of the booked amount. Meanwhile, one month before our stay and within the period when changes could be made free of charge, one of the families cancelled their stay. I cancelled the Superior King Studio since it was the most expensive. I changed everything accordingly in the reservation in Booking.com and informed the owner additionally with a message. I was promised by the owner Dimitra that the 50% for the cancelled studio will be duly returned. She did not return the 50% until we arrived at the property when she actually said only the Superior King Studio was available and that we need to pay additionally EUR 50 to stay in it. When we insisted that we receive the Deluxe King Studio which we had booked, she said it was not available and would be available on the next day. We were not offered any discount for the discomfort. My husband did not want to move a week's luggage twice, so we stayed in the more expensive studio. However, it turned out to be exactly the same size as the cheaper studios (only the bathroom was a little bigger) and even had a smaller balcony. So we paid EUR 50 more than the Deluxe King Studio and EUR 100 more than the Deluxe Suite with Sea View for exactly the same size of room and even smaller living space, since in the Superior King Studio there was a double sofa opened additionally (although we booked only for 3 persons) , while the other studios had a single additional bed. Overall, we felt the owner Dimitra was using every opportunity to take more money from her guests and we will not return in Castro Deluxe.
