Summary: We had a really lovely stay at Out of the Blue Hotel in Crete. The location is absolutely wonderful — surrounded by beautiful beaches and stunning views. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade on arrival, which made our stay even better. The reception and restaurant staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly — they really made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The only downside, and the reason for giving 4 instead of 5 stars, was the limited variety of meat options in the main restaurant. It would have been nice to have a bit more choice, especially towards the end of the season. We were also disappointed that we couldn’t get even one night at the à la carte restaurant, especially since the hotel was nearly closing for the season in late October. When we gave our feedback, the guest relations lady didn’t take it very well and rather bluntly mentioned that no other guests had complained about the limited meat options — we felt this was a bit rude and dismissive. Overall though, it’s a beautiful resort in a fantastic location with great staff.
