Positive: The villa is simply amazing but differs largely from what we are used to in Europe. It has an open plan and no real door to lock it so you need to be comfortable with living with geckos in your living room and kitchen during the evenings! We loved it and thought it was really nice. The bedrooms and bathrooms have door you can lock. The villa overlooks stunning rice fields and if you’re lucky you can see the harvesting which we were able to experience. The actual house is stunning, very well maintained and it has everything you can possibly need. The hostess, Ibu, deserves a special shout out - she’s been the most friendly and helpful person we met during our travels and nothing is too much trouble for her, we felt really taken care of.

Negative: Not so much that we didn’t like it as we actually loved it but you have to be aware of the location. For us it was perfect- it is about 25 min drive to Ubud so close enough if you want to go into town but the location itself is very remote and there is nothing around it like shops or restaurants, you will either need to do shopping before or ideally rent out a scooter (or car like we did) unless you want to rely on taxis (which are very affordable - roughly €7 to get into Ubud).

Summary: Excellent stay if you’re looking to stay away from Ubud’s chaos. Stunning villa and great hostess.
